Casa Golferichs

In 1900, architect Joan Rubió i Bellver was commissioned by Macari Golferichs to build a home on the corner of Gran Vía de les Cortes Catalanes and Viladomat streets. It is currently home to a civic center.

CCCB - Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona

Contemporary Culture Center of Barcelona (Montalegre, 5). Housed in what was once the home of the Casa Provincial de la Caritat (Charity), a convent and orphanage built in 1802 and operative until 1957, this vibrant cultural hub has adapted the original structure surrounding the central patio, known as the Pati de les Dones (The Women’s Patio), comprising three 5-floor wings laid out in a U-shape.

MACBA - Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona

The Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (Plaza dels Àngles, 1). Designed by architect Richard Meier, the building features a longitudinal plan measuring 120 x 35m at its base, and housing a cylindrical structure that vertically traverses the four interior floors, so as to create an array of unique exhibition spaces.

Universitat de Barcelona

Built between 1863 and 1893 according to the plans of architect Elies Rogent y Amat, the University officially opened in 1871. For over a century it’s housed the majority of the city’s schools and faculties, divided into the Patio of Letters and the Patio of Sciences. In 1970, the building was declared a national monument of historical and artistic significance.

Fàbrica Moritz

This industrial space which since 1856 housed the original Moritz company headquarters has been redesigned by Jean Nouvel into a building featuring diverse dining venues under the direction of Michelin-star chef Jordi Vilà (of Alkimia fame), as well as different areas offering the best in contemporary design, trends, and fashion.
